ABOUT SPAS

The Society of Physics & Astronomy Students (SPAS) is an undergraduate-run organization at Rice University for any student interested in the fields of physics and astronomy. The purpose of SPAS is the advancement and diffusion of knowledge of physics, the encouragement of interest in physics throughout academic and local communities, and the introduction of students to the professional community.

SPAS events, such as on-campus lab tours and faculty lectures, graduate school information sessions, member socials, and field trips to NASA Johnson Space Center, aim to further connect the Physics & Astronomy student community at Rice and enhance the educational experience of undergrads. Any student at Rice interested in physics, regardless of major, is welcome to join SPAS!
